AirAsia Philippines yesterday reported its passenger volume and load factor improved in the second quarter this year compared to the previous quarter despite limited flights due to the community quarantine restrictions.
The airline progressed steadily with a 2 percent growth in number of passengers carried and 4 percentage points increase in load factor to reach 78 percent in April to June compared with January to March this year, according to its parent firm Malaysia-based AirAsia Berhad.
AirAsia carried 171,543 passengers in April to June this year, higher by 489 percent from 29,111 passengers in the same period last year when commercial flights were suspended due to the pandemic.
However, AirAsia said the monthly breakdown showed that load factor was as high as 83 percent in June 2021, boosted by active capacity management.
