AirAsia Philippines has seen a return in confidence among passengers to travel, noting an increase in advance booking for next year despite the pandemic.
AirAsia said it ended August with a 140 percent increase in seats sold compared to the previous week’s 42 percent. A third of bookings registered were for 2021, reflecting a demand for future travel.
“We are prepared to increase flight frequencies, launch new destinations, while utilizing all four hubs flying to both domestic and international destinations,” Ricky Isla, AirAsia Philippines chief executive officer, said in a statement.
Following the impressive commercial flights sales in August, AirAsia in the Philippines is offering an exclusive “buy 1, take 1” promo on all domestic and international flights for a limited time.
“The positive momentum leaves us feeling optimistic and determined, and you can expect a stronger AirAsia as we prepare for a more aggressive and busy last quarter,” Isla said.
Passengers can enjoy all-in, one-way fares from as low as P1,022 for two tickets. This special promo is available for booking on airasia.com or the AirAsia mobile app from Sept. 13, 2020, for travel from January 1 to October 31, 2021. Promo seats are limited and subject to availability.
Meanwhile, AirAsia said it is providing enhanced flexibility for guests traveling up to Dec. 31, 2020, allowing them to change their flight dates conveniently at any time without flight-change fee.
The airline resumed operations in 13 routes this month as part of initiatives to gradually restore its network operation amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The routes include Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Tacloban, Cagayan de Oro, Puerto Princesa, Bacolod, Kalibo and Caticlan, Boracay. For international flights, AirAsia resumed operations to Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia.
From January to June this year, AirAsia flew 1.22 million passengers, down from last year’s 2.6 million passengers.
