PHILIPPINES AirAsia is targeting to end the year with 8 million passengers.
Driven by its aggressive promo offerings, AirAsia Philippines has flown over 5 million guests from January to August, 85 percent of which booked via its double-digit, piso sale and other low-fare promos.
It serves 165 domestic and 71 international weekly flights.
AirAsia also sees the lower fuel surcharge at level 5 for September to have a huge impact on the public’s booking behavior.
The fuel surcharge is expected to go down to P800 for international flights and P542 for domestic flights which would immediately reflect on ticket prices next month.
“Filipinos are always on the lookout for discounts. Any budget saved from airfares can be used as an additional budget for hotels, restaurants, activities, or souvenirs,” said AirAsia Philippines communications and public affairs head, First Officer Steve Dailisan.
As of the end of June, AirAsia Philippines flew 3.9 million passengers, of which 2.6 million were domestic passengers and 698,949 were international passengers, based on latest data from the Civil Aeronautics Board.
