AirAsia Philippines recorded a monthly double-digit growth in sales from January to July, following 1.1 million seats that have been booked under its various promos.
Out of over a million seats sold, 340,000 were Gen Zs and 480,000 were Millennials while the remaining were Gen X and Boomers.
Steve Dailisan, AirAsia head of communications and public affairs and first officer, said the company will continue to offer competitive airfare to sustain its growth.
He said 70 percent of online and AirAsia app bookings for the first half of 2024 came from Millennials and Gen Zs.
“To cope with their travel needs, we need to stick to our working business model of low-fare philosophy that focuses on streamlined, simple and efficient business operations with high regard to passenger safety. We will continue to offer the most competitive and affordable airfare, fueling their excitement for travel with our monthly offerings,” he added.
AirAsia Philippines is offering another promo, with more than 500,000 seats available to all destinations until July 28. Guests can book their domestic and international flights from as low as P177 one-way base fare for immediate travel until December 30, 2024.
Meanwhile, AirAsia Philippines said it noticed that “revenge travel” has been recently crossed out of the bucket list. A new trend which is coined “journey travel” focuses more on the guest’s travel experience from point A to point B.
Rather than focusing on the end destinations, such as a famous beach resort in Boracay or a luxurious hotel in Bangkok, travelers now also focus on creating memorable experiences and discoveries along the way, the airline noted.
“This is where AirAsia also comes into play. With an array of destinations, accommodations, activities and other modes of transportation available on the AirAsia MOVE app our guests can create the best memories,” Dailisan said.
The airline flies to 12 domestic and 13 international destinations as of April 2024.
