ACI expands portfolio

Aboitiz Construction Inc. ACI) said it will expand into water and transportation infrastructure, projects for ready-built factories, and maintenance services this year.

Levi Agoncillo, ACI vice president said this is also in line with the company’s vision to solidify its national footprint.

Under its Big Shift Strategy in 2021 that helped it achieved its business recovery goals ACI balanced its project portfolio and diversified its technical capabilities and focused on heavy and light industries, infrastructure, and maintenance and manpower services.

Throughout 2021, ACI generated 1,730 jobs in all its projects nationwide that included construction of a mining plant owned by CD Processing Ltd. in Toledo City, Cebu; maintenance and shutdown works of the 105-MW Sarangani Energy Corp.’s thermal power plant; civil works for the expansion of a fuel storage facility in Subic, Zambales; construction works for a local manufacturer and distributor of high-grade oleochemicals in Misamis Oriental; design and construction of Berth 4 for Davao International Container Terminal in Panabo City, Davao del Norte; construction of transmission lines that will supply power to businesses located in Light Industry Science Park and residential areas in Pueblo de Oro in Malvar, Batangas and; fabrication and installation of 20 tons of pillars to the FSTR, a 109-meter high-speed catamaran ferry that was completely delivered by Austal Philippines.

ACI expanded its portfolio in infrastructure after bagging a deal to design and build an additional overhead transmission line project for Lima Enerzone, a distribution company under AboitizPower. It also received a contract for the construction of a water infrastructure project for Lima Land Inc. in Batangas.

Most recently, it confirmed the construction of a warehouse for Therma Visayas, Inc. in Toledo City.

These projects are expected to be completed in 2022.

Under its light industries belt, the company has started the construction of a 26,000-square-meter- warehouse and office buildings in Paranaque City. Another big ticket project that is expected to be completed this year is the construction of a 6,000-square-meter warehouse for a local food company in Iloilo City. – Irma Isip
