Aboitiz-owned Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corporation said on Thursday that its Tarlac processing facility has been recognized as the first establishment in the Philippines to earn Triple A accreditation in three categories from the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS).
The company said in a statement that the triple-A license is awarded to meat establishments that meet stringent international food safety standards and are certified under Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) protocols.
Pilmico added that this accreditation gives its Tarlac Meatmasters facility a quality seal to its products that cater to both local and global markets.
“As the first facility in the Philippines to earn this distinction, we remain committed to maintaining excellence and raising industry standards. With this achievement, our customers can always trust that Tarlac Meatmasters and Pilmico Farms consistently deliver safe and high-quality products,” Hendel Cabral, Aboitiz Foods’ first vice president of meat division, said.
Aboitiz Foods added that in the past, Tarlac Meatmasters has also earned six HACCP certifications from the NMIS, further solidifying its role as a key driver of food safety and quality in the region.
The company added that since opening in 2020, the facility has consistently invested in advanced pork processing technologies and world-class equipment, strengthening its reputation as one of the country’s most modern meat processing hubs.
It added that Tarlac Meatmasters is a critical link in Aboitiz Foods’ mill-to-meal value chain.
Aboitiz Foods serves as the unified corporate brand of Pilmico, one of the flour and feed manufacturers and meat producers in the country together with Gold Coin Management Holdings Inc. which manufactures animal feeds in Asia.
The company’s website showed it has a total annual capacity of 4.2 million metric tons in terms of feed mills as of the end of 2024.
Aboitiz Foods has facilities in seven countries, in addition to the Philippines, including China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and Brunei.
