The Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) has expressed confidence of a strong performance this year as revenge travel will be sustained.
With 2024 as the year of travel for Filipinos, PTAA is bringing back the 31st Travel Tour Expo (TTE) and the 9th International Travel Trade Expo 2024 on February 2 to 4 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Pasay City.
Patria Chiong, TTE chairperson, in a press conference, said outbound Filipinos opt to travel to nearby visa-free countries such as Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and Taiwan but Japan and Korea are constant favorites. Europe is also becoming popular among Filipinos.
Boracay, Bohol, Palawan, and Siargao are popular among local tourists.
New trends have also been observed for outbound tourists: gig tripping where fans travel to a foreign country to watch their idol’s concert and; set jetting where fans travel to places which were the set locations of popular movies.
“The enthusiasm for travel and to see different places once again is making for a buoyant travel industry, and we at PTAA are very much ready to cater to the demand,” said
Evangeline Tankiang-Manotok, president of PTAA.
This year’s TTE offers travel deals, exclusive discounts, and destination packages to provide travelers cost-effective options to fit various budgets and preferences.
It hosts more than 200 exhibitors with 702 booths that include airlines, domestic and international travel agencies and tour operators, hotels and resorts, cruise liners and shipping, merchandisers, and more.
