2 Taiwanese firms keen on investing in PH logistics

Two Taiwanese logistics companies are exploring possible investment in the Philippines, one for reefer van manufacturing and the other for smart fleet management systems, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Taipei (PTIC-Taipei) said on Thursday.

PTIC-Taipei director for commercial affairs Anthony Rivera said in an email message that one of the interested companies looking to invest in reefer van manufacturing is a member of the Taiwan Cold Chain Association. He declined to disclose other details.

“They are still in the process of assessing demand in the Philippines before determining the potential scale of the project,” he said.

Rivera said the company planning to roll out smart fleet management systems is exploring the possibility of partnering with a leading telecommunications company in Taiwan, in collaboration with another Taiwan firm that already has operations in Subic.

In a separate social media post on Wednesday, PTIC-Taipei said these investment leads were generated during the Philippines’ participation at the Smart Business & Logistics Asia 2025 held from June 11 to 13 at Messe Taoyuan.

PTIC-Taipei said the interests generated at the expo signify Taiwan’s concrete plans to expand its investments in the country’s logistics innovation.

Throughout the event, PTIC-Taipei conducted investment briefings, one-on-one business meetings, and high-level networking with potential partners.

The Philippines’ participation at the event builds on the 2024 Taiwan-Philippines Cold Chain Industrial Collaboration Summit organized by Taipei as a platform for cooperation in cold chain logistics.
