The Philippines is experiencing “The Great Reshuffle” where employees leave their jobs in search of more fulfilling roles that provide the flexibility.

This as the number of Filipinos working from home, on gig, has reached 1.5 million, juggling two to three jobs at one time.

Citing the 2021 Global Talent Survey, JobStreet said 67 percent of Filipino employees have chosen to prioritize their health and well-being over work while 53 percent would prefer keeping a remote work set-up even if it entails additional 10 hours of extra work per week.

Some 41 percent would accept a lower salary as long as they can move to a more affordable location.

“Employees have many things to consider whether a job is worth it or not. Jobseekers are now taking their time to reassess not only their careers but their personal life. That is why, as a career partner, we aim to provide a venue where applicants can have the liberty to decide on which role they wish to pursue,” said JobStreet Philippines harketing Head Kim Viray.

JobStreet Philippines country manager Philip Gioca said onsite or office employment still dominates the job portal’s listing, but many o offer options for work-from home.

Gioca yesterday announced over 75,000 – remote, provincial, or entry-level roles– from more than a hundred companies such as ePLDT, JPMorgan Chase Bank, BDO Unibank, SM Retail, BMI, ABS-CBN, Accenture, Wilcon Depot, etc. will be offered at a week-long Virtual Career Fair on June 13 to 17.

Held in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry, the job fair will offer the top work-from-home jobs such as encoder, engineer, office staff, virtual assistant, architect, information technology roles, among others.

Fresh graduates can also check out some entry-level roles available including customer service representative, administrative assistant, sales, office staff, among others.
