Taiwan provides US$150,000 humanitarian assistance

The Taiwan government announced a donation of US$150,000 to the Philippine government in response to severe tropical storm “Kristine” that hit the Philippines.

Wallace Chow, representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) to the Philippines handed over the said relief fund to Manila Economic and Cultural Office chairperson Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil to support the Department of Social Welfare and Development  of the Philippines in its continuous provision of essential supplies, medical assistance, and other forms of support to help the affected families rebuild their homes and return to their normal lives. 

Chow assured the Philippine government that the Taiwan government and TECO in the Philippines will continue to closely monitor developments and maintain contact with relevant Philippine government agencies to provide necessary assistance in a timely manner.
