Cebuana Lhuillier’s sister company, Xpress Superapp (Xpress), launched its ride service for Filipino commuters just in time for Women’s Month, ushering in a new era in the ride-hailing industry under this year’s theme, #InspireInclusion. As a Filipino-owned brand, Xpress sets the standard as a viable transportation option for all commuters.
Starting March, Xpress is offering its MC Taxi and 4W transport services across the National Capital Region (NCR), aiming to make commuting more affordable and secure. With a focus on inclusivity, the app introduces features designed to address the concerns of women during their daily commute.
“Providing accessible and affordable rides is at the core of Xpress’ mission to ensure every Filipino can benefit from the app. With Xpress, no one is left behind, and our priority is the safety of all customers, especially women,” stated Xpress Chairman and PJL Group of Companies President and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier, emphasizing Xpress’ dedication during Women’s Month.
Xpress has implemented processes and features to enhance safety measures within the platform: rigorous partner driver screening; safety and security; and customer and driver rating system.
In a bid to promote inclusiveness, Xpress is introducing the Ride for Xpress Program (RXP). This initiative enables eligible Filipinos without a motorcycle but desiring to earn through ride-hailing to participate in a “boundary-hulugan” system. Qualified riders will receive a daily payment of P700, provided they ride for six days a week and meet the required percentage of daily rides. A percentage of their daily earnings will be allocated for motorcycle maintenance and daily amortization. After a year in the program, riders will become the official owners of the motorcycle.
“This program empowers you to become your own entrepreneur with the assurance that Xpress will support you every step of the way. In addition to being an Xpress rider, you will gain essential skills such as being a first responder, empowering you to serve the community,” remarked Cliff Cabungcal, Xpress President and Cebuana Lhuillier CFO.
Xpress’ inaugural lady rider, Irene Sicabalo, entered the logistics industry as a food delivery rider in 2019. Recently joining Xpress for additional income, she appreciates the work-life balance the industry provides, enabling her to fulfill her roles as both a mother and a career woman through Xpress.
“Being a lady rider is empowering; I can take care of my kids and contribute to our household income,” shared Sicabalo, whose daily routine revolves around rides, taking her children to school, and spending quality time with them after work.
