Brave, bold, and inspiring are adjectives that fittingly describe Filipino women.

The Watsons Women’s Run held at the SM Mall of Asia Complex on March 10th celebrated women who have shattered barriers in their careers and daily lives by exemplifying strength and fearlessness.

“Watsons has always been a company that champions women. We firmly believe in equality and every woman’s right to pursue her dreams and goals. That’s what this run is all about,” said Sharon Decapia, SAVP for Marketing, PR and Sustainability at Watsons.

As the leading health, wellness, and beauty retailer brand, Watsons acknowledges the profound influence women have in transforming lives and uplifting communities.

During the Watsons Women’s Run, the spotlight was on five remarkable women who embody the spirit of today’s Filipina:

Rosalinda Ogsimer, aged 76, holds the title of the oldest female runner in the Philippines. Despite starting her running journey at the age of 65 and enduring initial pain, she persevered, eventually completing her first 42K marathon in 2015 with grace.

April Perreras, a mother and cancer survivor, epitomizes bravery. As a CETI-Certified Cancer Exercise Specialist, she empowers fellow cancer warriors through exercise, aiding them in regaining strength and enhancing their quality of life.

Andrea Estrella, a visually impaired national athlete in obstacle course racing, defies stereotypes. Winning two medals at the OCR World Championships in Belgium, Estrella aims to debunk misconceptions and inspire others to overcome obstacles.

Maritess Nocyao, also an OCR athlete, is a fearless competitor. Securing gold at the 2023 Southeast Asian Games and achieving second place in the Spartan Race’s 2023 Elite Series, she emphasizes the importance of unwavering focus in achieving success.

Thysz Estrada, a social media personality and chairperson of Pantay Tayo, advocates for gender-transformative legislation. Estrada, a member of EZ Run Club, promotes inclusivity and equality while pursuing her passion for running and cycling.

The Watsons Women’s Run, held in collaboration with Women’s Run PH, an organization dedicated to empowering women through running and promoting an active lifestyle, welcomed serious runners, first-timers, and enthusiasts with routes including 1K for Kids, 5K, and 10K.
