American enterprise Techlog Center Philippines is setting up its fifth business process outsourcing (BPO) operation in the country with an investment of P877 million.
This was relayed in a text message on Sunday by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority’s (PEZA) to this paper.
Techlog signed in Pasay City on May 21 a supplemental agreement (SA) for the registration of a project to offer voice and non-voice BPO activities, which will employ more than 900 workers, it said.
The agreement was signed by Techlog Director for Finance and Accounting Dexter Medilla and PEZA Director General Tereso Panga.
Techlog’s activities include data analysis, timekeeping, document and payment processing, coding, and workforce management, PEZA said.
The new project will be located at Bonifacio Business Park, F. Cabahug St., Kasambagan, Cebu City and will start operation in January 2026, PEZA said.
Techlog has operations in several ecozones in Luzon and Visayas, among them Calamba City, Laguna; Iloilo City; Nuvali, Santa Rosa, Laguna and; Bonifacio Global City. It has invested more than P2.7 billion and provided jobs to more than 6,800 Filipinos as of end 2024.
According to PEZA, Techlog’s expansion aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment, and decent work for all (SDG 8).
The company integrated circular economy principles into its operation such as refurbishing and sustainable remanufacturing of used mobile phones and PCs.
