Factory prices of locally-manufactured goods eased 0.3 percent in July as measured by the Producers Price Index (PPI), data from the Philippine Statistics Authority’s (PSA) Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI) showed on Tuesday.The PPI in July marks the third straight month of decline since May’s 0.38 percent drop.
The July contraction was similar to the 0.3 percent fall recorded a year earlier.
The seven-month PPI, however, registered a 0.3 percent expansion.
For the month of July alone, factories posted a 1.1 percent decline in the volume of production (VoPI), while output value (VaPI) contracted by 1.3 percent, the PSA said.
Sales for the month rose 3.7 percent as measured by the volume of net sales index (VoNSI), while the value of net sales index (VaNSI) grew by 3.4 percent, survey data showed.
