Udenna Corp. said it has tapped Megawide Construction Corp. to be the general contractor for the development of its 177-hectare Clark Global City (CGC).
Udenna unit Global Gateway Development Corp. (GGDC) recently held the groundbreaking with Megawide for the master-planned, mixed-use development located in the heart of Central Luzon.
“Bold and audacious projects such as CGC can only be done by partnering with people who not only share the same vision but are also equipped with topnotch execution skills. We are honored to work shoulder to shoulder with Megawide to transform 177 hectares of land into a thriving business center and community,” said Dennis Uy, Udenna chairman.
After taking over the property in 2017, GGDC now holds the lease rights for CGC until 2085. To fast-track the development of this modern metropolis with its 22-month timeline target, GGDC has been partnering with several locators that share the same vision of building this generation’s center of commerce, culture, entertainment and leisure.
At present, 47 of the 177 hectares has been developed with world-class, disaster-ready horizontal infrastructure; 50-year storm water drainage systems; state-of-the-art sewer system; an underground infrastructure network; and eight-road lanes with bike lanes and 50 meters of right-of-way priority.
“After only a year of operations under new management, GGDC has subleased over 32 hectares of land to 17 top-tier real estate developers, fully leased out West Aeropark and hosted over 15 major events including the sought after Hot Air Balloon Festival in Clark, Pampanga,” said Wilfredo Placino, GGDC president.
Megawide said it will construct 12 kilometers of roads and fully develop the remaining balance of infrastructure in 22 months.
