Top information technology-business process management (IT-BPM) companies continued to beef headcount in 2022 as they sustained their expansion during the period, especially to the provinces.
Colliers in a report culled from third-party said notable positive employee headcount movement as of the third quarter of 2022 came from Concentrix, which hired an additional 10,000 employees;
Teleperformance, 2,534; TaskUs Philippines, 8,000; Telus International, 7,000 ; and afni Philippines 2,000.
Concentrix is the top BPO employer with 100,000 full time employees; followed by with 72,000; Teleperformance, 58,800; Alorica,55,000 and; Sitel,37,00.
Concentix is also the biggest in office space occupied, Colliers data ending September showed.
Colliers said Concentrix has also been expanding outside Metro Manila: its provincial office footprint increased by 12 percent in the third quarter of 2022 compared to the previous quarter.
In terms of increase in total office space occupied, WNS Global Services has expanded quite significantly both its Metro Manila and provincial office footprint: 12 percent and 47 percent.
According to Colliers, several IT-BPM companies are diversifying their site portfolio through expansions in the provinces.
Telus International sustained its Metro Manila office footprint, but expanded in the provinces by 23 percent.
TTEC’s provincial office footprint also increased by 19 percent while retaining its footprint in Metro Manila.
The top five provinces which took up the largest new office space as of the third quarter are Cebu, 34,000 sq.m.; Davao, 21,000 sq.m.; Pampanga, 9,000 sq.m.; Laguna, 5,000 sq.m. and; Dumaguete and Negros Occidental, 4,000 sq.m. each
The number of FTE working in the IT-BPM sector has reached 1.44 million, and is projected to increase further by 1.1 million to 2.5 million by 2028, 54 percent
