Organized by Ninja Van Philippines, the event brought together leaders from the region’s leading job search and networking platforms, the government, and local human resources industry to discuss trends, opportunities, and challenges in the evolving post-pandemic work landscape in the Philippines.
Vergara said in response to employee needs, Ninja Van Philippines has implemented a full hybrid setup for its corporate office. Those in the support and commercial groups, such as sales, marketing, finance, and administration, only report to work physically on an as-needed basis, aligned with their respective teams’ schedules and priorities.
Ninja Van Philippines has begun renovations of its Makati headquarters to make it more conducive for employees reporting onsite. Among the expected upgrades include fitness equipment and game nooks for better work-play integration, rest and shower areas, and individual call booths for focused work.
Cebu, Sugbo Mercado is now on Viber!
Viber has teamed up with Sugbo Mercado, the biggest weekend food market in Cebu.
An important component of Viber’s Cebu expansion, this partnership gives local food entrepreneurs a chance to promote their business through the Sugbo Mercado Food Market Viber channel where Cebuano foodies can enjoy exclusive perks.
At the launch of the partnership on June 17 to 19, Sugbo Mercado patrons were able to skip the line and order their food ahead of time by simply leaving a comment on the channel. Viber and Sugbo Mercado also prepared a series of fun on-ground events for the foodies at the launch.
In the same event, Viber also announced the creation of a new Channel for and by Cebuanos, Asa Ta Bai channel. The messaging app also launched the free 30-minute Viber calls to landline and non-Viber mobile numbers, giving a few bonuses to foodies who will call a landline number posted on the Sugbo Mercado channel using the Viber app.
Emirates’ new country manager
Emirates has recently appointed Saeed Abdulla Miran as country manager for the Philippines.
With an almost decade-long track record with Emirates, Saeed is tasked to lead the airline’s operations here in the Philippines while helping drive further its growth in the country. His appointment comes at a time when air travel from the Philippines to other destinations around the world is picking-up following the easing of border restrictions in many countries.
Before being assigned to the Philippines, Saeed was the area manager for Hong Kong

Apprentice program
