Insular Life’s (InLife) women empowerment program and chorale competition won Excellence Awards at the 20th Philippine Quill Awards.
The InLife Sheroes Advocacy and Movement won Excellence Award under the Communication Management Division — Diversity and Inclusion Category.
From the Quill Awards period from August 2021 to December 2022, InLife Sheroes spearheaded health webinars, business opportunity forums, Nation of Sheroes outreach programs, #InAko social media campaign, “Bida ang Pinay” digital bazaar, and InLife Negosyo Challenge for women-led social enterprises. InLife Sheroes also put the spotlight on women achievers through the Young Sheroes of the Year Award. PLDT, Smart turn over Ligtas Kit to DICT

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region 3 is one the latest recipients of the PLDT and Smart Ligtas Kit, an all-in-one communications package that provides quick, emergency communications support to people and communities in times of disasters and emergencies.
With representatives of the GSMA, the organization representing mobile operators globally, and the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) as witnesses, PLDT Inc. and its wireless unit Smart Communications Inc. , turned over the Ligtas Kit to DICT director for Region 3, Antonio Edward Padre, to extend quick, emergency communications support to the DICT.
The turnover ceremony coincided with the GSMA Humanitarian Connectivity Charter Asia-Pacific workshops held in Clark, Pampanga, and happened at the sidelines of the workshop delegates’ visit to the PDRF Operation Center, also located in Clark.
“Our experience has shown that communication as aid, just like food, water, and shelter, has an important role, particularly for LGUs, response agencies, and their constituents, during emergency situations. We are optimistic that the PLDT and Smart Ligtas Kit will provide much needed connectivity, capacity-building, and last mile support to the DICT, especially in remote, disaster-hit communities,” said Cathy Yang, PLDT and Smart FVP and head of Group Corporate Communications.
Each PLDT-Smart Ligtas Kit contains a power station, solar panel, rechargeable handy megaphone, crank radio, rechargeable flashlight, satellite phone, Smart LTE pocket Wi-Fi with initial load, smartphone, and whistles.

Fake 12-month free ride card
AF Payments Inc (AFPI), owner of the beepâ„¢ card brand used on Metro Manila’s Light Rail Transit, has raised concerns about an online promotion that guarantees “12-month free subway rides using beep cards,” which can be seen on the “Manila Metro” Facebook page.
AFPI categorically denies involvement in this misleading, bogus, and fraudulent promotional scheme.
“AF Payments has not authorized the selling of any “12-month free subway rides card” or any similar promotion. We urge beep card users and commuters to prioritize safety by being vigilant and refraining from clicking on or subscribing to any suspicious links that could potentially compromise your personal and financial data,” said JJ Moreno, CEO of AFPI.
AFPI encourages purchasing beep cards from its official outlets, such as LRT1, LRT2, and MRT3 stations, convenience stores, and online through official Shopee, and Lazada.

Moneybees expands OTC crypto trading

Herbalife Philippines started the year with an educational talk by Dr. Luigi Gratton, vice president of training, where he highlighted Herbalife’s Global Nutrition Philosophy that champions a holistic approach to well-being through balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and community support .
Touching on the significance of protein-rich, low-calorie diets as pivotal tools for ensuring overall health, Gratton said, “The main thing we have seen in the latest literature is that restricting calories leads to losing weight along with a tremendous amount of muscle. However, increasing your protein intake will prevent muscle loss. Maintaining that muscle allows you to be healthier as you age.”
Gratton also highlighted the results of Herbalife’s Asia Pacific Power of Community Survey 2023 which revealed 83 percent of APAC consumers are actively pursuing health and wellness goals, with 51 percent of these consumers finding support groups very important in their health journey, providing motivation and access to a network of broader health perspectives and resources.
Aboitiz bags Philippine Quill Awards

The Aboitiz Group bagged three merit awards for its transformational initiatives at the 20th Philippine Quill Awards, the country’s most prestigious body in business communication.
