THE Taiwan Tourism Workshop, held on February 1, 2024, at Seda Hotel Manila Bay, marked a significant moment in the Taiwan-Philippines relationship.
Wallace Minn-Gan Chow from the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines thanked the Taiwanese Tourism Delegation for organizing the successful business-to-business workshop.
Chow praised the delegation’s dedication, emphasizing the strong partnership between Taiwan and the Philippines.
Nearly 120 Philippine tourism stakeholders participated, showcasing the growing bond between the nations. Chow envisioned mutual exploration and shared experiences in the future.
Reflecting on Taiwan reopening in October 2022, Chow noted a 550 percent increase in Filipino travelers to Taiwan, signaling post-pandemic recovery and Taiwan’s popularity. He highlighted the seamless connectivity between the countries, with over 120 direct flights per week.
Chow invited Filipino explorers to enjoy Taiwan’s diverse attractions, including its food scene and leisure farms. For adventure seekers, Taiwan offers train rides, bicycle tours, and hiking trails with breathtaking views. He also mentioned cultural festivals like the Lantern Festival in late February.
In closing, Chow warmly invited all present to visit and promote Taiwan, confident that firsthand experiences would deepen their understanding and inspire them to share their stories. He thanked everyone for their support in fostering cross-cultural exploration.
