STI College students recently flaunted their diverse talents and artistic prowess at the highly anticipated STI Talent Search, held at the Enchanted Kingdom. The event served as a vibrant celebration of school spirit and provided a platform for students to showcase their abilities beyond academics.
The nationwide STI Talent Search underscores the institution’s dedication to nurturing well-rounded and future-ready graduates. By promoting holistic growth through a range of co-curricular and extracurricular activities, STI College aims to equip students with essential skills and experiences.
“For over 40 years, STI College has been dedicated to fostering students’ potential through academic and extracurricular endeavors. We continually strive to provide innovative learning opportunities that shape well-rounded individuals,” remarked Ferdie T. Dantes, STI assistant vice president for academics.
The event drew over 22,000 students from various STI campuses nationwide, who eagerly cheered on their peers competing in four exhilarating categories: Singing Idol, Battle of the Bands, Hataw Sayaw, and the prestigious Search for Mr. and Ms. STI 2023 pageant. Participants from eight clusters showcased their musical prowess, dance skills, and stage presence in a bid for national recognition.
Donalynne May Soriano from STI College Calamba clinched the title of STI Singing Idol National Champion with her captivating rendition of the classic Filipino ballad Bituing Walang Ningning. The 4-piece band Haley from STI College Novaliches rocked the stage to emerge victorious in the Battle of the Bands category with their unique interpretation of the hit song Unholy.
Project Atmos from STI College Ormoc captivated the audience with their dynamic dance performance, blending various styles to claim the title of Hataw Sayaw National Champions. The Search for Mr. and Ms. STI 2023 concluded with Harjit Chohan from STI College Caloocan and Kimberly Tinoy from STI College San Pablo reigning supreme, impressing the judges with their poise and talent throughout the competition.
In addition to the competitions, attendees enjoyed performances by celebrity guests, including GMA Kapuso actor Matthew Uy, and had the opportunity to engage with esteemed panelists.
Meanwhile, STI College is gearing up for an exciting Second Semester, featuring a lineup of educational activities aimed at further enriching student experiences. Highlights include the National Youth Convention (NYC), Tagisan ng Talino (TNT), and Tagisan ng Sining (TNS), offering students a platform to excel in various academic and creative pursuits.
