San Miguel Corp. (SMC) is eyeing a 10-hectare land near Brent International School in Biñan as possible location of a hospital in Laguna.
“We are checking (the location’s) viability if people will have an easy time to commute going there because if you put up a hospital, transportation of ordinary employees and patients is important. If there is public transport that can access the area, then I will proceed in building that right away,” said Ramon Ang, SMC pres1ident and chief operating officer, in a virtual briefing last week.
Last year, Ang announced plans to put up a hospital with a 500-bed capacity specializing in infectious disease research.
He said the facility will provide services for ambulatory patients especially those from vulnerable communities.
Ang said the hospital will also be equipped with a research center. – Jed Macapagal
