SM CITY North EDSA first to get Safety Seal
SM City North EDSA is the first mall in Quezon City to receive the “Safety Seal” certification with the implementation and strict compliance of government-mandated Covid-19 safety and health protocols.
The Safety Seal certification program is a collective effort of several government agencies namely DOLE (Department of Labor and Employment), DOH (Department of Health), DILG (Department of the Interior and Local Government), DOT (Department of Tourism) and DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) to continuously safeguard the consumers’ well-being while safely reopening and boosting the country’s economy.
Safe malling in SM City North EDSA can be experienced by every mall goer in every touch point, providing heightened Covid-19 health measures to its operation. Implementation of Kyusipass and other health and safety protocols are all in place. The mall recently partnered with Quezon City LGU for a safe and convenient vaccination site.
Mayor Joy Belmonte, DILG Undersecretary Joseph Malaya and DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez attended the Safety Seal ceremonial awarding.
Other SM Malls in Quezon City including SM City Fairview, SM Novaliches, SM Sta. Mesa,and Cherry Congressional said they are ready for the certification.
RCBC ATM Go expands
Rizal Commercial Banking Corp.’s (RCBC) deployment of its ATM Go service to Kalinga and Biliran this month will improve financial inclusion in the respective regions.
ATM Go, which brings financial services to remote unbanked and underserviced communities, is now closer to its mission of bringing the service to all provinces in the country.
Dubbed as the country’s first neighborhood ATM, this RCBC service enables any BancNet ATM cardholder to withdraw cash through various merchant partners, such as rural banks, sari-sari stores, drugstores, cooperatives, and microfinance institutions nationwide.
Customers can also deposit cash, do balance inquiries, pay bills, transfer funds, and purchase electronic load for prepaid mobile phones through this ATM Go.
Since the start of community quarantines in March 2020, ATM Go has serviced over 4.11 million households or over 20.56 individuals and helped disburse up to P14.8 billion in government subsidy, including conditional cash payouts to beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Aboitiz, MCIAA sustain MEZ II operations
More than a year since the first community quarantine in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Mactan Economic Zone II (MEZ II) continues to show resilience as it maintains stable industrial operations amid the ongoing pandemic.
MEZ II is a 63-hectare Philippine Economic Zone Authority-registered mixed-used development that hosts 49 industrial locators from light to medium industries including precision instruments, medical equipment, communication and electronics, automotive supplies, apparel, and furniture.
MEZ II operated even through the strictest periods of lockdown sustaining the jobs of their 12,000 employees, while adapting to production demand changes, labor support challenges, and supply chain ecosystem constraints.

Toyota extends emergency preparedness support to Marikeños
Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), through its dealer Toyota Marikina City has donated rubber boats and communications equipment to the local government.
After a devastating typhoon in 2020, which put Marikina in a state of calamity, TMP has continued reinforcing resources to help keep the city safe and coordinated.

Ensuring employee engagement amid the pandemic
Phoenix Petroleum said collaboration among the company’s teams and units allowed it to leverage on employee engagement amid the pandemic.
At the start of the pandemic, the company shifted 70 percent of its employees to a remote work setup while only employees with critical operational roles were allowed to work onsite.
Phoenix provided support such as releasing a portion of their 13th month salary and Christmas bonus in advance, and allotting allowances for Internet connectivity. Transportation and protective gear were also offered to those working onsite.
