Shell Energy Philippines Inc. (SEPH) has partnered with Sta. Clara Power Corp. for a run-of-river hydro off take agreement for the Loboc hydro project in Bohol.
“The Loboc hydropower plant harnesses the power of flowing water to generate clean and renewable energy. By utilizing the natural flow of the river, the plant minimizes its impact on the environment and contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions,” said Bernd Krukenberg, Shell Energy Philippines president and chief executive officer, in a LinkedIn post.
Based on Sta. Clara’s website, the Loboc hydro project currently has a 1.2 megawatts (MW) capacity.
SEPH has is a party to a tripartite memorandum of agreement with the Department of Energy and affiliate firm, Shell Pilipinas Corp. for the conduct of a pilot study of electric vehicle charging stations supplied by renewable energy, such as solar.
SEPH also sealed a power supply agreement with PetroSolar Corp.
Under the deal, PetroSolar will supply SEPH with RE power from its 20 MW Tarlac-2 Solar power plant.
