Share prices ended up Tuesday tracking overseas leads.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) was up 117.93 points to 6,218.75, a 1.91 percent hike.
The broader all shares index was up 52.78 points to 3,699.61, a 1.45 percent hike.
Gainers edged losers 141 to 54 with 46 stocks unchanged. Trading turnover reached P6.99 billion.
The peso closed at 50.07 to the dollar, up from 50.345 on Monday. It opened at 50.23 and hit a high of 50.03 and a low of 50.26. Trading turnover reached $901.5 million
“Philippine shares along with the rest of Asia rose after recovering from losses yesterday, as the Federal Reserve announced further measures to support the market amid the coronavirus pandemic,” said Luis Limlingan, managing director at Regina Capital and Development Corp.
Most actively traded Ayala Corp. was up P25 to P775. Ayala Land Inc. was up P0.10 to P35.90. Emperador Inc. was up P0.05 to P7.95. MerryMart Consumer Corp. was up P0.75 to P2.25. BDO Unibank Inc. was up P3.40 to P102.40. Jollibee Foods Corp. was down P1.70 to P142.50. SM Prime Holdings Inc. was up P0.35 to P31. International Container Terminal Services Inc. was up P5.40 to P105. Alliance Global Group Inc. was up P0.39 to P7.29. PLDT Inc. was up P3 to P1,223.
