The benchmark PSEi barely moved on Tuesday as players continued to search for fresh catalysts that could stimulate the market toward a clearer direction.
Japhet Tantiangco, an analyst from Philstocks Financial Inc., said investors remained cautious in the absence of fresh leads, which kept the market moving sideways during most of the session.
The PSEi shed 0.08 percent or 5.32 points to 6,384.62.
The broader All Shares eased 0.06 percent or 2.1 points to 3,735.54.
Losers outnumbered gainers 106 to 90 with 56 stocks unchanged. Trading value reached P5.13 billion.
Luis Limlingan, managing director at Regina Capital and Development Corp., said investors were waiting for “clearer cues from upcoming global data and central bank commentary.”

International Container Terminal Services Inc. eased by P0.80 to P404.80. Bank of the Philippine Islands lost P1.10 to P138.10. Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co. decreased by P0.30 to P74.70. Bloomberry Resorts Corp. rose P0.56 to P4.60. Ayala Land Inc. gained P0.40 to P23.85.
