During a recent discussion on “Fintech’s Role in Empowering Businesses of All Sizes,” chief commercial officer Frederic Levy underscored that GCash has played a key role in the Philippine economy during the pandemic. As some businesses have been forced to close their physical stores, their access to digital payment through GCash has enabled the economy to keep on moving.

For the businesses choosing a financial technology solution, Levy emphasized that a payment provider should be aware of their business’ unique needs and challenges, disbursement platforms, and digital advertising and marketing support. Growing businesses can transition from phone numbers to QR Codes to accommodate consumer’s demands.

GCash is also strengthening its e-government platform for users to pay more fees and bills through the app. GCash has also been in constant cooperation with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas in pushing for a more inclusive finance for Filipinos.

Solane now uses Bioseal

LPG brand Solane started rolling out the first-of-its-kind biodegradable LPG seal in the country — the Bioseal.

Solane is replacing its old plastic safety seals with the Bioseal that will be easier to recycle and takes a shorter time to decompose when discarded.

Using cutting edge technology from plastic solutions company to significantly speed up the decomposition process, the new Bioseal will now only take an estimate of five to 10 years to biodegrade as opposed to 500-1000 years normal plastic wastes need to decompose. Consumers can segregate the bioseal with biodegradable wastes in a compost pit for disposal, and let it decompose over time.

The Bioseal can also be easily recycled together with ordinary plastics. During the manufacturing process, Solane’s new seal consumes less energy and has reduced carbon emissions.

The Bioseal will allow customers to differentiate an authentic Solane LPG cylinder from substandard LPGs.
