The government announced the Philippines has been named one of the world’s top 12 performers in e-governance by the United Nations for the country’s digital transformation efforts from 2022 to 2024.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) said on Monday the United Nations E-Government Award, presented during the 2025 UN Public Service Forum in Samarkand, Uzbekistan last week, marks a milestone in the country’s shift toward more efficient, citizen-focused digital public services.
The award was given on June 25 — UN Public Service Day — by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), the DICT said in a statement.
Between 2022 and 2024, the Philippines jumped more than 15 spots in the global e-government rankings and moved from “high” to “very high” in two key benchmarks: the E-Government Development Index (EGDI) and the Online Service Index (OSI), the department said.
“These milestones reflect our unwavering commitment to build a digital government that is accessible, secure, and future-ready,” DICT Undersecretary for E-Government David Almirol Jr. said. “This global recognition by the UN validates the Philippines’ digital roadmap under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.”
Among the country’s flagship platforms is the eGov PH Super App, now with more than 13 million users, offering 47 integrated services and supporting more than 150 million transactions.
Behind it is the eGovDX platform, which powers more than 500 million transactions across more than 1,000 national and local government systems through its eNGA and eLGU platforms.
Supporting this ecosystem is the eGovCloud project, a robust infrastructure running on four multi-cloud environments, currently hosting more than 3,000 government system servers.
The award comes as the Philippines pushes forward on its digitalization agenda, aligning public service delivery with the broader goals of transparency, inclusion, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The 11 other countries in the top 12 are: Albania, Armenia, Jordan, Mexico, Mongolia, South Africa, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Colombia, Ecuador and Ukraine.
