The Philippines posted a budget deficit of P784.4 billion in the first seven months of 2025, widening 22.04 percent from P642.8 billion a year earlier, Treasury data showed Thursday.
For July alone, the shortfall narrowed to P18.9 billion from P28.8 in July 2024, with revenues up 3.26 percent on higher corporate income tax collections and spending up just 1 percent.
