PCCI sets up innovation hub

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) is leading an initiative for a Silicon Valley-type technology hub to give the Filipino youth more accessible opportunities to learn about in-demand skills and knowledge,

PCCI president Benedicto Yujuico at the soft launch yesterday of PCCI Innovation Center, also signed a memorandum of understanding with Huawei Technologies Philippines Inc. where the latter will provide Cloud and AI industry enablement and development support to the center in building up Cloud, AI talent and Ascent ecosystem,

Yujuico said the two-year partnership that will enable a stronger and more robust Philippine AI ecosystem that will make AI more accessible to businesses of all sizes.

The educational programs offered in the Innovation Center are carefully crafted to align with the requirements of the tech job market such in AI, Robotics, Coding, Big Data Analysis, Internet of Things, Satellite Internet Connectivity, and Blockchain.

“The Center is an ideal hub to bridge investors and innovators. We envision that our Center will facilitate knowledge-exchange among start-ups, established businesses, and local government units in moving toward digital transformation and software solutions in the areas of smart cities, medical technology, security systems, and digital banking, among others,” Yujuico said.
