Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to open new domestic flights in Visayas and Mindanao and increase capacity of the Manila to Guam route by mid-December.
PAL said it will start operating new flights from Cebu to Dipolog and Cebu to Zamboanga and between Zamboanga and Tawi Tawi to increase connectivity within the Mindanao Region.
In anticipation of increased demand this holiday season, PAL will increase flight frequencies in Cebu from 14 to 21 flights weekly from Cebu to Legaspi and Cebu to Butuan routes.
Flights from Cebu to Busuanga and Cebu to Tacloban will also increase from 14 flights to 21 flights weekly. Flights from Cebu to Legaspi will increase from three flights to 10 flights weekly starting December 17.
For Mindanao, PAL will increase from 7 to 11 weekly flights between Davao and Siargao and Davao and Tagbiliran s starting Jan. 1, 2020.
PAL is set to launch seven weekly flights from Davao to Iloilo starting Jan/ 2, 2020.
PAL said it will also increase seat by 15 percent capacity of its daily service between Manila and Guam in anticipation for higher traffic this Christmas season by upgrading two of its seven weekly flights to the widebody Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
From Dec. 15, 2019 until Jan. 13, 2020, PAL will operate A330 flights every Sunday and Friday from Manila and every Monday and Saturday from Guam.
The A330 is also PAL’s aircraft of choice for nonstop flights between Manila and Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Honolulu, Tokyo and Osaka.
The flag carrier operates a fleet of 98 high-technology aircraft and is ranked as the 30th Best Airline in the world, having recently been awarded the World’s Most Improved Airline honors for 2019 by Skytrax and the 4-Star Major Airline award from the US-based Airline Passenger Experience Association.
