The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released P495.13 million to cover the payment of right-of-way (ROW) for properties affected by the NLEX-SLEX Connector Road Project (NSCRP).
In a statement yesterday, the DBM said budget secretary Amenah Pangandaman has approved a special allotment release order to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for the said amount.
The fund is charged against the program/activity/project under the 2023 DPWH budget, and was approved for release by the budget secretary last February 22.
Pangandaman said the fund will further boost the administration’s infrastructure development program.
The NSCRP, an approximately eight-kilometer, elevated four-lane toll expressway, aims to stimulate development in Manila, Caloocan, Malabon and Navotas, as well as its surrounding areas.
The project likewise seeks to help decongest traffic in Metro Manila.
Pangandaman highlighted that acquiring the ROW is one of the most crucial parts of the project implementation. – Angela Celis
