The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has pushed back the issuance of the Noche Buena price guide following the delay in the submission of some manufacturers covered by the list.

“Best effort, we will release it by next (this week),” Trade Undersecretary Kim Lokin told reporters over the weekend.

Lokin said the Consumer Protection Advocacy Bureau is waiting for the remaining manufacturers to submit their final price lists before consolidating all submissions.

Lokin said the delay in the submission has been a result of recent talks between the DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) and the manufacturers. We are expecting final submissions to be made latest on the third week, “ Lokin said.

The price guide covers 12 categories including ham, fruit cocktail, cheese, queso de bola, mayonnaise, sandwich spread, pasta spaghetti elbow and salad macaroni, pasta sauce, tomato sauce and cream.

This year’s price guide covers 238 stock keeping units (SKUs) from 22 manufacturers.

Ham prices have gone up 1 to 4 percent, covering 30 SKUs.
