The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) has acquired heavy equipment, service vehicles, and portable current flow meter through First Gen Hydropower Corp. to construct irrigation projects in Isabela.

The agency said the equipment will also be utilized for operations and maintenance activities of irrigation projects under the Upper Pampanga River Integrated Irrigation Systems in the said region.

NIA did not disclose the cost of the deal and the number of units purchased but said the acquisition is part of measures to improve the delivery of services especially since the portable current flow meter will allow them to measure the volume of water discharged to the irrigation canals.
