RASLAG Corp. has begun testing and commissioning its fourth solar plant in Magalang, Pampanga, to the 69 kilovolt line of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines last Wednesday.
The company said in a statement yesterday the project is its largest operating plant to date, with 36.646 megawatts (MW) peak capacity.
Raslag said the project is also expected to produce 53 gigawatt hours of electricity, enough to power 24,000 homes annually and generate P285 million in revenues in its first full year of operations.
The new facility utilized 670-watt mono crystalline solar modules to maximize energy output and ensure long-term reliability. The project employed more than 150 workers during construction.
“We are thrilled to have already completed four organic projects to help meet our nation’s growing energy demand,” said Robert Nepomuceno, Raslag president and chief executive officer, in a statement.
The completion of Raslag’s fourth solar project brings its total installed capacity to 77.844 MW.
Raslag will also begin expanding beyond its home province of Pampanga. Its next solar plant will be put up in Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija, by 2026.
The company hopes to significantly increase its portfolio of renewable energy capacity to at least 1,000 MW by 2035, with three more projects underway.
