The Office of the President has appointed two new commissioners of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
ERC chairperson Agnes Devanadera said Floresinda Digal, a lawyer, and Marko Romeo Fuentes, a certified public accountant, filled the two vacant positions in the body.
“The appointment of commissioner Floresinda Baldo-Digal brings with her a deep knowledge of the responsibilities of a regulator. She has 26 years of experience in the ERB/ERC starting as stenographer and working through to become a lawyer… She served almost all major services in ERC,” Devanadera said in a statement.
Digal served as the spokesperson and executive director of the regulatory body prior to this appointment.
Devanadera said Fuentes’ appointment will bring in the perspective of the private sector in the technical aspect of the work, especially since he served as vice chairman of the Board of Accountancy.
