More than 91 million Filipinos have so far registered successfully for the National ID System, nearing the end-2024 target of 92 million, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported yesterday.

“As we inch closer to achieving the target registration for the National ID, we intend to continue providing opportunities for Filipinos to register with ease and convenience,” PSA Undersecretary and National Statistician Claire Dennis S. Mapa said.

The National ID system refers to the government’s central identification system for all Filipino citizens and resident aliens in the Philippines.

The establishment of the National ID system is mandatory as stated in the PhilSys Act. It will integrate processes, systems and services.

As of November 29, a total of 91,286,252 Filipinos have already registered to the National ID, or 99.1 percent of the target registration of 92.16 million.

For this year alone, there have been more than 8.2 million registrants, accounting for 91.6 percent of the 9 million goal for full-year 2024.

“The registration of over 91 million Filipinos is a significant milestone for the National ID system. This would not have been possible without the dedication and perseverance of our registration teams who consistently extend National ID services to the public,” Mapa said.
