NAC to meet half of target by 2025
Nickel Asia Corp. (NAC) said its energy generation arm Emerging Power Inc. is set to have a total capacity of more than 500 (MW) by next year.
NAC said the capacity is half of its target of 1,000 MW or 1 gigawatt (GW) capacity by 2028.
Andre Mikael Lu Dy, NAC vice president for treasury and investor relations and sales, said the company will have 174 MW in operation and 487 MW under construction and another 1.8 GW in development stages.
Dy said the 145 MW Subic Cawag solar project will start construction next month and is targeted to be completed by fourth quarter next year.
The first 120 MW of the 240 MW solar prospect in Leyte will be completed by the second quarter next year.
Dy said NAC its geothermal project produces up to 1.5 MW of power which he noted could be expanded up to 10 MW.
