Iloilo City power distributor More Electric and Power Corp. (MORE Power) will soon hold a competitive selection process (CSP) on its supply to help bring down the cost of electricity in its coverage area.
Roel Castro, MORE President, said the company will continue the rehabilitation of old distribution system by replacing poles, uprating the wires and distribution transformers and installing new facilities with the latest technology.
Castro said at the inauguration of a 10 megavolt amperes (MVA) mobile substation last Friday the facility will meet the expected power demand increase in the Iloilo Business Park.
MORE Power added the facility will also free up some load from other substations that are nearing their maximum capacities.
“Before this mobile substation, the total capacity for Iloilo was 130 MVA and in the next five years, we will double this to 260 MVA,” Castro said.
