Filinvest subsidiary FDC Misamis Power Corp. has secured an ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety (OHS) excellence for its 405 megawatts (MW) coal-fired power plant in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental.
Juan Eugenio Roxas, FDC Utilities Inc. president and chief executive officer, said the certification validates the company’s efforts to maintain safety and well-being of its employees.
ISO 45001:2018 is an internationally recognized standard that provides a framework for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an occupational health and safety management system.
With the certification, FDC Misamis is deemed to have been practicing best practices in OHS management, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all personnel.
“This certification is another step in ensuring our operations remain reliable and stable. With our proactive approach to risk management, we guarantee to provide uninterrupted and stable electricity services to all our customers in Visayas and Mindanao,” Roxas added.
FDC Misamis’ 405 MW baseload power plant is one of the leading energy providers, providing reliable and cost-effective electricity to electric cooperatives in Visayas and Mindanao.
Filinvest is also developing solar, hydropower and biomass energy projects including the 19.78 MW expansion of the previous 11.5 MW solar project in the PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate, also in Misamis Oriental.
