Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) local retail electricity arm MPower has renewed a retail supply agreement with the Pioneer Highlands South Condominium Corp. (PHSCC).
PHSCC manages Pioneer Highlands South Condominium in Mandaluyong City which houses around 445 residential and commercial occupants.
MPower said PHSCC is among its first batches of customers that signed up under the Retail Competition and Open Access implemented in 2013.
However, the parties did not disclose the capacity and amount involved in the renewed partnership.
“Our partnership with MPower has gone deeper than our continuing business contracts. This does not only forge a decade’s worth of continued energy supply and professional assistance but is also a celebration of warm friendship and continued pursuit of lofty ideals to serve and be fruitful citizens,” said Evangeline Ang, PHSCC president, in a statement.
Meanwhile, Redel Domingo, Meralco first vice president and MPower head, said that they can assure PHSCC and other partners for continued “stable, reliable and cost-competitive” power supply.
Prior to this renewed partnership, MPower also recently secured a deal to supply a total of 100 megawatts of renewable energy to Alliance Global Group Inc. through its companies Megaworld and Newport World Resorts operator, Travellers International Hotels.
The deal will allow the property developer’s hotels, resorts and real estate projects to use renewable energy for their operations which will also help the company hit the target to source 100 percent of its power requirements from RE by 2025.
