Megaworld vaccinates 95% of office-based employees

Following the company’s rollout of its free vaccination p program for employees and stakeholders last week, Megaworld reports that it has completed the vaccination of 95% of its office-based employees, mostly in Metro Manila. This is equivalent to around 2,300 out of the 2,430 employees currently assigned in the various office locations of the company such as Eastwood City, Uptown Bonifacio, and McKinley Hill.

Aside from the office-based employees, the company is also expediting the inoculation of its frontliners totaling to around 2,500, particularly mall personnel such as security guards, housekeeping, concierge and parking staff, and residential sales agents who are deployed in various sales offices around the country.

Megaworld piloted its employees’ vaccination program in Arcovia City in Pasig City. This week, another site will be opened in Uptown Mall as the company sets to roll out the vaccination of its employees’ dependents who have been pre-registered in March.

Megaworld’s vaccination is part of the conglomerate-wide AGIMMUNITY program, the free vaccination program of the Andrew Tan-led Alliance Global Group (AGI) for its employees and other stakeholders.

The conglomerate has ordered more than 100,000 doses of Sinovac, Moderna, and AstraZeneca vaccines.

These vaccines are distributed to Megaworld Group, which also includes subsidiaries Global-Estate Resorts, Inc. (GERI), Empire East, and Suntrust Properties; Emperador, Inc., Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc., and Infracorp.

Cine México online

From 28 to 30 July, the Embassy of Mexico in the Philippines, together with the National Autonomous University of Mexico, will stream the third installment of Cine México for viewers in the Philippines.

In this year’s edition of the film festival, the Embassy will be featuring three highly acclaimed Mexican films of the 2000s: Rito Terminal (Terminal Rite), Espiral (Spiral), and El Sueño del Mara’akame (The Dream of the Mara’akame).

The chosen films will tackle themes like migration and indigenous cultures, this year’s selection offers something for everyone.

Tanging Yaman’s Gulayan

Metro Pacific Investments Foundation, PLDT-Smart Foundation, and One Meralco Foundation donated P1 million each to Tanging Yaman Foundation Inc. (TYF) in support of their Gulayan Para Sa Community Pantries program in a turnover ceremony last July 5, 2021.

The group’s donation will be utilized to provide fresh vegetables and rice to various parishes, organizations, and community pantry organizers in Metro Manila.

Since 2020, TYF has helped various farming communities in Central and Northern Luzon by sourcing vegetables and rice from them, augmenting the income they lost due to the lockdown. The produce is donated to urban poor parishes and communities in NCR and nearby provinces.

TYF has served around 670 community pantries, distributing more than 130 tons of vegetables and 31 tons of rice, supporting around 1,500 farmers in the process..”

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Tulong Kapatid Foundations have mobilized various efforts to provide aid and assistance to different sectors, primarily focused on the most vulnerable. Aside from this donation, the Foundations are actively distributing livelihood tools to beneficiaries across the country through the Bike for Livelihood program and the celebration of First Pacific Co. Ltd.’s 40th anniversary .

BPI Bayan

BPI Foundation and Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation (GK) recently organized a three-part volunteerism workshop series to help volunteer groups make a greater impact in their communities.

The workshop sessions gathered 189 volunteers of BPI BAYAN, the employee volunteerism program of BPI, which aims to empower employees to become change-makers.

Owen Cammayo, executive director of BPI Foundation, said this year’s batch of BPI BAYAN volunteers reached a record high of 74 groups with 4,774 employees across 34 provinces.

Cammayo said the program welcomed the highest number of registered groups since its inception in 2011, noting that the numbers were double last year’s record of 40 BAYAN groups with almost 2,500 volunteers.

Coca-Cola donation for vaccine distribution

The Coca-Cola Foundation (global) is donating $400,000 (P20 million) to Philippine Red Cross (PRC) to help expedite vaccine distribution around the country.

The grant is part of a $20 million total global fund to support nonprofit partners working to stop the spread of COVID-19 through vaccine distribution, personal protective equipment, and public awareness efforts.

Through the grant, PRC will support the Department of Health (DOH) in the national COVID-19 vaccination program by establishing PRC-operated Bakuna Centers, supporting local government unit-operated centers with manpower, and deploying the PRC COVID-19 Mobile Vaccine Clinics to over 30 priority areas in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon. The program aims to fully vaccinate over 40,000 vulnerable Filipinos by mobilizing 200 health care professionals.

Also supporting the well-being of Filipinos during the pandemic, The Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines has been providing PPEs as well as food and beverages to vulnerable communities significantly affected by the pandemic.

Piddig connectivity

PLDT Enterprise has provided fiber connectivity and internet solutions to all 23 barangays of Piddig, Ilocos Norte to support online learning initiatives and improve the governance capabilities of the municipality.

The group recently teamed up with the local government and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation of Piddig for connectivity plans that would support the online education and online businesses of its constituents.

The local government of Piddig has subscribed to fiber connectivity plans and Smart postpaid plans of PLDT Enterprise. The group’s wireless arm Smart is also working on boosting signal coverage in the area by installing picocells at the Piddig Municipal Hall.

PLDT Enterprise aims to redefine the future of learning through its continuous engagements with universities, colleges, schools and learning institutions, and LGUs alike so no learner is left behind.

TPVac program  

Teleperformance Philippines began implementation of its employee vaccination program called TPVac on July 10 at Solaire Vaccine Center in Paranaque.

The first team members to receive the vaccines were the most at risk population front line employees.

Teleperformance procured vaccines for employees based out of its 22 business sites across the National Capital Region, Antipolo, Cavite, Baguio, Bacolod, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao who opted to participate in TPVac. 

FCB Manila appointment

FCB Manila has announced the appointment of Lizette Santos as its new president and chief executive officer.

Prior to her appointment to the new position, Santos was vice president for Strategy as well as co-chief operating officer.

Santos has 21 years of experience in the advertising industry, having worked for top agencies such as Lowe Philippines, Harrison Communications, Campaigns and Grey and the FCB office in Jakarta.

West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. is offering septic tank cleaning services to its residential and semi-business customers this July in select parts of Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon, Manila, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Pasay, Quezon City, Valenzuela, and in Cavite Province at no extra cost.
