The P969.14-million Central Manila Sewerage System (CMSS) rehabilitation project will upgrade approximately 9,600 linear meters of sewer lines within 30 barangays in parts of Sta. Cruz and Malate in Manila.
Maynilad Water Services Inc. said the project, targeted for completion by June 2021, will ensure the sewerage system’s continued reliability as this will accommodate a larger volume of wastewater generated by the increasing number of households and establishments.
The project is also expected to help reduce pollution in Manila Bay.
Ramoncito Fernandez, Mayniladpresident and chief executive officer, said in a statement the CMSS rehabilitation project is part of the West Zone concessionaire’s long-term wastewater management program to protect community health and the environment through the proper treatment of effluents to clean up, rehabilitate and preserve Manila Bay.
