Nissan donates to typhoon relief, partners with AFP for distribution

President and Managing Director for Nissan in the Philippines Atsushi Najima (in red, center), turns over relief good donations to Joint Task Force-National Capital Region commander Brig. Gen. Marceliano V. Teofilo (second from right) at Camp Emilio Aguinaldo. The donations will go to communities in Bicol and Cagayan regions affected by typhoons Rolly and Ulysses.

Nissan in the Philippines recently donated relief goods for 800 families greatly affected by the recent typhoons that have passed through the country, as part of the company’s ongoing support to people in the Philippines.

The Japanese automaker turned over relief goods to the Joint Task Force-National Capital Region, a Civil-Military Operations division of the Armed Forces of the Philippines that conducts relief operations for communities in Bicol and Cagayan regions affected by typhoons “Rolly” (international name “Goni”) and “Ulysses” (international name “Vanco”).

“Reaching out to communities in need, especially in times of calamity, is part of Nissan’s commitment to support and enrich people’s lives. We hope our contribution brings hope and respite to families in Bicol and Cagayan, as well as inspire others to do the same,” said Atsushi Najima, president and managing director of Nissan in the Philippines.

The donation continues Nissan’s community engagements in the country, following the donation of three Nissan Navaras to the Philippine Red Cross in response to the Taal volcano eruption early this year, as well as the meal donations to medical frontliners fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in various hospitals in Metro Manila.

Toyota Football for Tomorrow CSR rolls out

Toyota Motor Asia Pacific announced the Toyota Football for Tomorrow (TFFT) project, a corporate social responsibility initiative across Southeast Asia to create opportunities for the youth to discover, develop and reach for the possibilities of tomorrow – a personal goal or dream that always seems to be out of reach.

In the Philippines, local manufacturer and distributor Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) will be spearheading TFFT activities to help promising Filipino children develop their football potential.

Toyota Football for Tomorrow empowers youth with skills in football and beyond to enjoy the thrill and joy of moving together and to believe in the possibilities of tomorrow. This is inspired by Toyota’s vision to provide the freedom of mobility to all.

Since 2013, Toyota has been conducting football clinics. TFFT aims to standardise Toyota’s football clinics across the region, delivering consistent and quality training.

With the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, Toyota initiated the TFFT online training video series to keep the youth motivated, as well as to keep up their football skills in a fun and positive virtual environment. Drills and tactics such as ball control (dribbling, passing, turning) and goal keeping skills featured in the TFFT football clinic curriculum will be made into a five-part online training video series aimed for the under 12 age category.

The video series has been  available in the Philippines starting November 23, through TMP’s official channels: www.facebook.com/ToyotaMotorPhilippines  and www.youtube.com/ToyotaMotorPhilippines
