Binalot ‘Donate Your Free Extra Rice Project’

Binalot has implemented a Donate Your Free Extra Rice Project that allows customers to share or pass on to  medical and non-medical frontliners the free extra rice that comes with their Binalot All Time Pinoy-vorites meal.

Under its corporate social responsibility arm, the Dahon Program, Binalot launched  BAYANI or Biyaya at Yaman Alay Natin sa Inang Bayan program, Binalot launched the Donate Your Free Extra Rice project last September 1  and will run until December 31.

Customers who will order any All Time Pinoy-vorites meal may choose to donate their free extra rice to the project through the Binalot store. For every 1,000 free extra rice donated by the customers, the Binalot store will donate P5,500 worth of meals to a hospital or community.

BDO Remit promotes safety first

BDO Remit, the remittance service brand of BDO Unibank, in coordination with government agencies, has braved the pandemic to help distribute health kits to overseas Filipinos amid the continuing COVID-19 scare.

BDO Remit’s pre-departure orientation seminar team provided hygiene kits to more than a hundred repatriated seafarers in Iloilo in cooperation with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Region 6 office.

While working with the OWWA, the Philippine Overseas Labor & Office, and the Philippine General Consulate office, the BDO Remit office distributed face masks to stranded and repatriated overseas Filipinos at the Macau International Airport.

Laus Group champions Pampanga craftsmen

Pampanga-based Laus Group of Companies (LGC) leads in spreading the holiday cheer as they adorn and light up the Laus Group Complex Event Centre Boulevard in San Fernando as well as in their showrooms to signal the start of the Christmas season.

The LausGroup promotes local culture by putting up its Tree of Hope and other decorations sourced from  Kapampangan designers and carpenters, who were affected by the nationwide lockdown.

LausGroup has renovated its premier Mitsubishi Carworld Pampanga showroom, and mounted new LEDs on the walls of their Mini Showroom. The LausGroup Lights-on has been open for public viewing every day since September 19 and will remain open for the rest of the holiday season.  


Honda donates PPEs, computers

As part of its 30th anniversary celebration this October, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) recently conducted its donation drive of personal protective equipment and computers to various medical and educational institutions in Laguna.

The PPEs were donated to Santa Rosa Community Hospital in Santa Rosa; Ospital ng Binan in Binan; and Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital in Calamba.

Honda also donated 30 desktop computers to 18 scholls in coordination with the Department of Education – Schools Division of Santa. Rosa.


RedDoorz adopts HygienePass

RedDoorz Philippines has continuously worked to expand the number of hotels that implemented the HygienePass Certification Program.

Launched last June, the new initiative aims to equip hotels with an industry-wide cleanliness and sanitation certification which is co-created with local medical experts and also aligned with local government guidelines.

RedDoorz has successfully onboarded 100 HygienePass certified hotels across the country.

As one of the first certification programs in the industry, HygienePass leads the way in enabling hotel and accommodation players to easily follow the requirements of the new normal caused by COVID-19 by maintaining a set of robust cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation protocols.


Access to mental health services pushed

Johnson & Johnson, in collaboration with the Philippine Psychiatric Association and in celebration of World Mental Health Day this October, hosted the fourth annual Southeast Asia Mental Health Forum, with the theme of ‘Building Capacity for Mental Health in the New Normal.’

The event was attended by over 500 participants from across the Southeast Asian region, including the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore.

Among the speakers were Dr. Alessandra Baldini, SEA director of Medical Affairs of Johnson & Johnson, Dr. Rodney Boncajes of the National Center for Mental Health, and Philippine Psychiatric Association president Dr. Amadeo Alinea.

Three key themes emerged in the Forum, particularly in areas of Innovation, Access, and Partnerships. These include the utilization of digital technology for telehealth and telepsychiatry services, psychotropic formulations with longer half-life, introduction of community-based mental health at the primary care level, and emphasis on mental health education.

Enchanted Kingdom heightens health, safety protocols for Park reopening

Enchanted Kingdom welcomes guests back to create magical experiences under the ‘new normal’ in the country’s first and only world-class theme park.

Enchanted Kingdom, along with its Cast Members, have been updating and implementing heightened health and safety protocols that comply with the regulations and guidelines of the government’s Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions (IAAPA) to make sure that your visits to the Park will be more than magical and safe.

Guests will be required to wear protective personal equipment and to practice physical distancing. The total number of guests inside the Park will be limited, and there will be health checks upon entry.

The Park is implementing enhanced health and safety protective measures such as disinfection and sanitation, especially for rides and attractions; strategically located handwashing stations; Hepa and UV filters in enclosed venues; acrylic barriers and partitions for tables. Floor markers will help remind everyone to maintain proper distancing. There will be roving Safety Wizards to ensure that everyone complies with the health and safety protocols.

The video is a follow-up to their Courage over COVID-19 campaign, aimed to help people adapt to and navigate the so-called “new normal”, while bolstering confidence in the company’s reliability among stakeholders.

Diageo launches ‘Clean Serve — Raise the bar’ program

Diageo Southeast Asia, a global leader in beverage alcohol, has launched its “Diageo Clean Serve — Raise the Bar” program in the Philippines to support the business community and lean in on economic recovery of the food and beverage and tourism sectors.

The training program aims to “raise the bar” on hygiene standards., targeting front-line on-trade staff, including waiters, bar staff, and bartenders.

Diageo Clean Serve is not an accreditation program but restaurants and bars which subscribe to the program will have to receive the relevant training by the Diageo Bar Academy and commit to maintaining the highest level of hygiene standards for their staff and location.


CIMB Bank PH partners with MoEngage

CIMB Bank Philippines  has partnered with San Francisco-based customer analytics and engagement platform MoEngage to drive its digital customer engagement strategy.

MoEngage’s platform will be leveraged to enable seamless, multi-channel engagement for the bank’s individual and enterprise banking customers across the country. Epson sales tops 50M units

Cumulative global sales of Epson’s high-capacity ink tank inkjet printers recently topped 50 million units. By cutting down on plastic commonly used as the main component of ink cartridges, the brand estimates that CO2 emissions were approximately 166,000 tons lower than they would have been if all these units had been cartridge printers.

Epson boasts strong brand recognition and an extensive product lineup.

Rapid changes in society touched off changes in the office and education printing environments during the 2020 fiscal year. AI Pilipinas Coalition launched

 Together with Microsoft, the Makati Business Club , Infocomm Technology Association of the Philippines , Institute of Corporate Directors , Women’s Business Council Philippines, and the US-Asean Business Council Inc., in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), recently announced the formation of the AI Pilipinas Coalition.

The Coalition endeavors to empower people and organizations through Artificial Intelligence (AI) seen to play a key role in helping the Philippines respond to, and recover from COVID-19, build resiliency, and increase its competitiveness on the global stage in the years to come.

The Coalition was formed to address the need for its responsible adoption in the country, by exploring AI capabilities, founded on a clear roadmap and framework of execution in the form of its AI Action Agenda.
