“This is a huge honor coming from one of China’s most prestigious awards. We are extremely grateful for the recognition and will continue to work hard to provide our consumers with only the best products,” said Tanduay senior vice president for Sales and Marketing Paul Lim.

Tanduay Double Rum is one of Tanduay’s most internationally-awarded products. This sipping rum belongs to the cognac level of spirits. It is a blend of two aged reserves (16-year-old rum and 5-year-old rum) that are further aged in the barrel for another two years. Produced in small batches, it has a minimum run of only 5,000 bottles per production–a truly premium product.

Tanduay Rum Gold, one of Tanduay’s most awarded products, has received 7 Monde Selection International medals and has won Gold in the International Review of Spirits and a Silver in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2018, among others.

RSA Foundation to build hospital, research center on infectious diseases

RSA Foundation, established by San Miguel Corp. (SMC) president and chief operating officer Ramon S. Ang, is looking to build a state-of-the-art hospital on a three to five- hectare property in the southern part of Luzon as its first project and foray into helping future-proof society post-pandemic.

The facility is envisioned to help better prepare the country’s health care system to deal with health crises and other local and global outliers.

The health facility, which will specialize in research on infectious diseases and providing care for ambulatory patients, will be resilient and adaptable, according to Ang. It will operate efficiently, improve health services, and make health care more accessible and affordable.

Ang said the facility will focus on treating ambulatory or outpatients to treat more patients from vulnerable or disadvantaged communities for sicknesses that typically won’t require hospitalization.

The hospital, he added, would also be home to a research facility that will provide support for government on public health concerns, specifically infectious diseases.
