Fjallraven and Outdoors By SM celebrate Kanken Art

Swedish illustrator, artist, and graphic designer Moa Hoff, as a child, visited Northern Sweden with her father. They spent the time trekking the mountains together, nurturing her love for nature and leaving a lasting impression on her. It was these glimpses of childhood memories and the associated feeling — of hope, happiness, an awe at the vastness and beauty of nature — that served as her inspiration when she was asked by iconic Swedish brand Fjallraven to design a collection for its limited edition of Kanken Art.

Every piece of Kanken Art, which was designated as craft art by Svensk Form (The Swedish Society of Craft and Design) in 2017, will support the Arctic Fox Initiative, which that aims to protect the environment and inspire people to spend more time outdoors.

The good news is that Moa’s limited edition designs for Fjallraven are now available at Outdoors by SM, a concept store that is both a one-stop-shop for every adventure needs and a go-to store for the urban dweller.

Each piece in Fjallraven’s new collection —a laptop bag which can fit a 15-inch laptop, a mini backpack, card wallet, travel wallet, toiletry bag, and pen case — has Moa’s handmade, illustrative, and imaginative artistic approach.

The limited-edition Kanken Art line is exclusively available at Outdoors by SM. Ninja Van  service increases cash flow for SMEs

Ninja Van Philippines recently launched COD Advance, a service that enables online sellers to collect their cash-on-delivery  payments the day after their parcels have been picked up.

Together with the quick remittance of payments, the service also offers zero interest rates, no collateral and no lock-in period required for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) which decide to use it.

In launching this service, Ninja Van Philippines becomes the first and only third party logistics company providing expedited cash-on-delivery remittance.

“We recognize that Philippine-based SMEs have been hit hard by the business restrictions put in place during the early stages of quarantine,” Ninja Van Philippines country head Martin Cu said in a statement. “We’re optimistic that this service can further address the issue of cash flow of businesses affected by COVID-19, allowing them to continuously grow their businesses, and have more bandwidth to cover any general or urgent expenses.”

TELUS calls for grant applications

TELUS International Philippines’ grant-giving body, the TIP Community Board, is accepting a second batch of grant applications for 2020.

Distributing a total of $100,000 in grants annually, the TIP Community Board supports grassroots causes and innovative ideas that positively impact the community in the areas of health, environment, and education.

In 2019, the TIP Community Board supported a total of 12 non-government organizations (NGOs), benefitting over 6,000 Filipinos, including public school students, community-based beneficiaries, underprivileged women, and survivors of human trafficking in seven provinces in the country.

“The impact of the pandemic is unprecedented. We recognize the need to continue and strengthen the support from the TIP Community Board as we look to help other organizations and groups with deserving initiatives in health and education, as well as initiatives geared to support countrymen affected by COVID-19,” said TIP CSR head Phoebelyn Carrera.

Since the start of the community quarantine several months ago, the TIP Community Board has been able to award $35,000 to five NGOs in the country to fund their community projects addressing the challenges brought by the pandemic. Collectively, these projects will benefit over 1,000 families in over 12 provinces in the Philippines.

The second round of funding applications is now open.
