Mondelez PH shares snacks to mark anniversary

57 hospitals received snack products, to celebrate Mondelez’ 57 years in the country.

To mark 57 years of operation the country, Mondelez Philippines shared its chocolate and cheese products to 57 hospitals in Metro Manila, including those in its home city of Paranaque, as well as others in surrounding cities of Muntinlupa, Quezon City, Manila, Pasay, Makati, Navotas and Valenzuela.

“As we celebrate our 57th anniversary in the Philippines, we are grateful that we are getting better and more relevant to our consumers and customers with every passing year,” said Ashish Pisharodi, country director of Mondelez Philippines. “Even though many of our colleagues are working remotely at this time, we note with great pride that the culture and strong values of the Mondelez  Philippines Team continue to shine through to help us win in these unprecedented times. We are truly “Driven at 57” by our love for our consumers and brands, who also love us back more and more in return.”

Mondelez Philippines wanted to give thanks to the health front liners who are offering their lives in the service of the country at this time. It collaborated with with partner Rise Against Hunger on the initiative.

In recent years snacks have become more than just a bridge in between meals.  Mondelez’ actions are guided by its purpose to empower people to snack right; with the right snack, for the right moment and made the right way.

Globe, DepEd hold training to keep teachers, learners safe online

Globe Telecom and the Department of Education (DepEd) will hold a webinar titled “Global Filipino Teacher Series: Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP)”  on August 4 and  from 2 to 4 p.m.  via the Globe Bridging Communities Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/GlobeBridgeCom/).

It will be led by Globe with panelists from UNICEF and the DepEd and is open to all teaching and non-teaching staff of DepEd covering the national, regional, and division offices, and all public schools nationwide.  Globe is also launching shorter and shareable versions of the DTP cyber wellness training modules which are meant to reach a wider audience online.

“Globe continues to support DepEd’s thrust of delivering quality education and training to learners and educators and is one with the government in helping keep the online community safe for everyone, especially the children,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe chief sustainability officer and senior vice president for Corporate Communications.

DTP is a series of workshops on digital citizenship, online safety, and the responsible use of the internet.

In 2019, Globe turned over the DTP modules to DepEd for integration into the K-12 curriculum and a localized version was implemented per region.

Meanwhile, in partnership with DepEd regional offices, Globe has been rolling out a series of training under its Global Filipino Teachers Program that focuses on 21st century skills needed by teachers most especially in the new normal such as digital literacy and overall capacity-building to maximize the digital tools available to them.

The GFT program was first established in 2009 and has since delivered teacher training to all 17 regions in the country including BARMM. The program has covered various topics including 21st century learning methods, tech integration in the classroom, and online safety and responsibility.

Paymaya offering schools, students with digital payments solution

PayMaya is empowering over 40 schools nationwide with cashless payment solutions online and in-school, providing students a safer and more convenient way to pay for enrollment fees and other educational expenses.

Major learning institutions such as the University of the Philippines (UP), Ateneo De Davao University (ADDU), La Salle Green Hills, Don Bosco Technical Institute of Makati Inc. (DBTI-MAKATI), Nord Anglia International School Manila (NAIS Manila), Malayan Colleges Mindanao (MCM), University of Immaculate Conception (UIC), among others are beginning to adopt PayMaya’s end-to-end digital payment solutions such as the PayMaya’s Online payment gateway for their online channels and the One by PayMaya Point of Sale (POS) device for school cashiers.

“As we prepare to open another school year, ensuring that health and safety measures are implemented across learning institutions is important to protect both parents and students. By implementing PayMaya’s suite of cashless payment solutions on their online and physical channels, our school partners are adapting to provide continuous quality education to students in a safe and convenient way even amid the current crisis,” said PayMaya president Shailesh Baidwan said.

UP, ADDU, La Salle Green Hills, DBTI-MAKATI, NAIS Manila, MCM, UIC, are among the schools enabling their online student portals with PayMaya’s online payment gateway, which allows them to easily process tuition and other payments using debit and credit cards and e-Wallets such as PayMaya.

These institutions are also equipping their school’s cashiers with the One by PayMaya POS device to allow safer and more seamless payments by using the scan-to-pay via PayMaya QR feature or by tapping or dipping using their credit, debit, and prepaid cards.

These efforts are in response to the Department of Education’s directive to implement blended learning that utilizes both online and in-person modalities for education, where students are encouraged to utilize online classes, printed modules, and educational TV and radio broadcast as main learning channels this school year.

Aside from these digital payment innovations, PayMaya has previously rolled out cashless payment ecosystems starting with the PayMaya-powered student ID card in schools including University of the Philippines, La Salle Green Hills, LPU-Batangas, and STI, among many others. Students can easily link the PayMaya-powered student ID card to their PayMaya account and maximize for payment transactions even outside the campus at Bancnet-powered payment terminals and ATMs nationwide.

InLife calls for nominations to the Asia’s empowered women award

Insular Life (InLife) is calling for nominations to this year’s Asia CEO — InLife Shero of the Year Award to highlight successful Filipino women leaders and achievers who contribute to nation-building and empower others.

“Our InLife Shero of the Year award recognizes strong and empowered women who are helping to build a strong and modern Filipino nation. This award also highlights Filipino women leaders in the midst of the global pandemic,” InLife executive chairman Nina  Aguas said.

The InLife Shero of the Year is a category in the annual Asia CEO Awards.

The InLife Shero of the Year will be selected based on the following criteria: leadership commitment that demonstrates inspiring and empowering values; pioneering achievements to help the country’s economy and health situation; sustainability and scalability of initiatives and solutions; and social commitment.

Last year, the first Asia CEO — InLife Shero of the Year Award was given to Doris Magsaysay Ho, group president and chief executive officer of the Magsaysay Group, one of the country’s largest business conglomerates. Magsaysay Ho was chosen from the Asia CEO Circle of Excellence, a finalist group of eight highly successful Filipino women executives.

The seven other Filipino women leaders in the Asia CEO Circle of Excellence include: Alegria Sibal-Limjoco, President of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Cherrie Atilano, CEO of AGREA Agricultural System International; Joan Penaflorida, President and CEO of Yondu; Mailyn Borillo, President of OSM Maritime Services; Marcelina Itchon, President and CEO of Aspen Philippines; Mona Magno-Veluz, National President of Autism Society of the Philippines; and Myrna Yao, President and CEO of Richprime Global.

The recognition is also part of the InLife Sheroes program which aims to empower women through the four focus areas of financial literacy, health and wellness, women-specific solutions, and access to business and social networks.

The annual Asia CEO Awards, now on its 11th year, recognizes companies and individuals who have demonstrated excellence in their respective industries and have contributed significantly to nation-building. PSBank makes QR feature available in its mobile app

Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank), the consumer banking arm of the Metrobank Group, made QR facility available in its Mobile App with the aim to provide another safe and secure way to bank amid the current health crisis situation.

With this new digital service, customers no longer need to leave the comforts of their homes nor worry about their health and safety when managing their finances.

The PSBank QRlikewise reduces errors or risks as it eliminates the need to provide and enter long, confusing account information. Through a few simple taps on their PSBank Mobile App, clients may scan or upload QR codes to send funds to PSBank and other QRPh participating bank accounts. Customers may also generate their own QR code and send to persons for them to receive funds or payments more conveniently.  Moreover, one does not need to generate, request for nor send another QR code as it can be saved in one’s mobile phone for future requests or fund transfer transactions.

Utilizing the benefit of QR technology and mobile apps, the new PSBank QR feature simplifies and secures person-to-person (P2P) payments or fund transfers to allow individuals to move their money with ease and flexibility as they adapt to the new normal.

The PSBank Mobile App QR facility is in support of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ National QR Code Standard (QRPh) initiative for safe, convenient, and seamless P2P payments and fund transfers.
