RWM spreads holiday thrill

At the end of 2020, Resorts World Manila’s (RWM) League of Volunteer Employees (LOVE Plus) worked like Santa’s little helpers to spread holiday thrills and cheers to the community as part of the recently concluded Grand Fiesta Manila celebrations in 2020.

Through partnerships between the culinary team and RWM hotel brands, over a thousand meal boxes were produced in the spirit of noche buena. With the aid of RWM’s inhouse delivery service, Delishvery, eleven community partners received their special packages in time for their end of year holiday celebrations.

Partners from Belmont Hotel Manila and Savoy Hotel Manila sent care packages of assorted breads and pastries to medical frontliners at Pasay General Hospital. Hilton Manila, led by general manager Simon McGrath, delighted children under the care of Pasay Social Development Center with fried chicken, spaghetti, and holiday ham and cheese sandwiches.

Aboitiz Group pledges anew for additional vaccine donations

The Aboitiz Group has pledged additional doses of vaccine donations to the government as part of Wave 2 of ‘A Dose of Hope’, a tripartite initiative among the private sector, the government, and British drugmaker AstraZeneca, in support of the National Immunization Program.

The company joined more than 300 private companies and nearly 40 local government units (LGUs) in a virtual signing ceremony last January 14.

The program’s Wave 2 would bring more than three million additional doses on top of the 2.6 million doses signed for ‘Wave 1’ last November 2020. The tripartite initiative aims to help realize the collective goal of inoculating nearly 50 to 70 million Filipinos this year.

Aboitiz was among the first 30 private companies to sign the deal with the national government and AstraZeneca during Wave 1.

“The Aboitiz Group stands behind this national collaborative effort to protect Filipinos from Covid-19 while ensuring that we keep our economy running. We will continue to respond where our help is needed as our country moves forward to a better normal,” said Aboitiz Group President and CEO Sabin Aboitiz.

Maynilad’s PWTP 2 is the lone awardee from the Philippines.

PWTP 2, Maynilad’s second facility to tap Laguna Lake as raw water source, gained recognition for its crucial role in addressing water security in Metro Manila. With a production capacity of 150 million liters per day, PWTP 2 is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies that enable it to produce potable water despite the variability of the lake water’s quality.
