MVP Group turns over chopper to AFP for rescue, relief ops
The MVP Group of Companies donated various logistics support to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), to aid in the country’s rescue and relief operations amid the destructive calamities that visit the country this year.
During a turnover event at Camp Aguinaldo, chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan participated in the ceremonial turnover of a helicopter from Pacific Global One (PG1), the aviation group of the MVP Group, after careful selection and assessment by the AFP’s trained pilots.
Other items that were turned over were rescue boats and trucks from Metro Pacific Investments Foundation, PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF), One Meralco Foundation (OMF), and MetroPac Movers Inc.
As a consistent partner in the government’s endeavors, the MVP group supplied the agencies with the necessary vehicles to further augment the country’s available resources. “We have always been supportive of government endeavors, particularly in times of need,” said Pangilinan. “The nationwide presence of our businesses enables us to mobilize resources throughout the country and provides us with the means to augment the Government’s facilities to respond effectively to disasters and calamities.”
The donation of the helicopter will prepare the Army pilots in the Philippine Army’s Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) efforts, Air Ambulance, reconnaissance operation, and further trainings in aviation.
Pangilinan, who is also chairman of Makati Medical Center, also signed a memorandum of agreement with the AFP, represented by Department of National Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and AFP Chief of Staff Geb. Gilbert Gapay, to reinforce the public-private partnership for the organizational strengthening of their military treatment facilities.

PayMaya fuels Unioil with contactless payments solutions
PayMaya has added Unioil recently to its roster of name partners. More than 70 Unioil gasoline stations across Luzon are being equipped with the widest range of contactless options for card and eWallet payments powered by PayMaya.
Through the partnership, Unioil can now utilize the PayMaya One terminal to accept credit, debit, and prepaid card payment options for VISA, Mastercard, and JCB cardholders, as well as emerging payment options such as PayMaya QR, WeChat Pay, and GrabPay.
PayMaya is currently the leading payment company in the Philippines with the widest deployment of Android-based POS terminals in the Philippines, with its PayMaya One device being adopted by major supermarkets, restaurants, service providers, and government agencies across the country.
“Unioil made a strategic move in implementing the PayMaya One device across their branches as it caters to any form of cashless payments from motorists and at the same time, provides cashless convenience to its frontliners. More and more motorists are expected to use contactless payments as the government pushes for safer payment methods especially in the public transportation sector,” PayMaya president Shailesh Baidwan said.
As Unioil and PayMaya team up to promote cashless payments, both frontline staff and customers can also practice safety and health measures by avoiding cash transactions while experiencing payment convenience. Teleperformance helps disrupted enterprises navigate new digital landscape
As the pandemic forces more people into a digital-only way of life, businesses must meet customers where they are today, according to Teleperformance Customer Experience Lab (CX Lab) in a recently published white paper entitled Redefining the Customer Experience for a Post-COVID-19 World. “Companies are operating in a dynamic environment where they have to be agile and responsive to client requirements, so they need solutions driven by technology, analytics, and process excellence teams to deliver change and results that would delight their customers,” said Mike Lytle, Teleperformance Philippines chief operations officer.
The Technology, Analytics, and Process Excellence or TAP is Teleperformance’s business transformation framework — a methodology established to quickly identify transformation opportunities to adapt to the new environment. TAP does this through a systematic process of remote assessment agility with constant tracking, organization, and communication between the different stakeholders — from the initial collection of project data and KPIs, to complete and collaborative presentations.
Moving clients from traditional delivery to smart operations, Teleperformance Philippines offerings for business-led and market-driven Digital Transformation solutions potentially improves business outcomes, with as much as 65.3 percent in savings.
TAP initiatives, for instance, have resulted in 13.4 percent voice traffic deflected to digital and self-service options through Digital Experience Optimization for a pay TV client. A TAP project also resulted in processing time reduction from 90 Hours to just 15 minutes through Robotics Process Automation for a US commercial airline company.
UPS continues to deliver hope
As a longtime patron of SOS Children’s Villages, UPS Philippines traditionally engages the non-governmental organization with visits to its villages in Manila and Cebu by volunteers. The sessions help in the social and emotional development of the abandoned, neglected, and orphaned children who SOS Children’s Villages support, and is a regular affair that both sides look forward to.
Volunteers at UPS Philippines took up the challenge of taking their activities virtual, and organized games and storytelling to provide much-needed interaction to the children during lockdown.
In support of Typhoon Ulysses efforts, UPS Philippines also raised cash donations, sacks of rice and nearly 250 food baskets containing canned goods, noodles, coffee, milk, and biscuits.
Operation Blessing Foundation, a non-profit organization, in turn distributed the donations to affected families in the Cagayan, Calabarzon, and Bicol regions. The donations helped address the dire need for food and other essentials in affected communities.
This engagement with Operation Blessing Foundation is the latest initiative by UPS Philippines’ Community Involvement Committee.
