Results of the latest Tugon ng Masa survey by OCTA Research validate how Filipinos appreciate and understand what the current administration has been doing over the last three years, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said on Tuesday.
Marcos talked to reporters on the sidelines of the 46th Commencement Exercises of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) in Camp General Mariano N. Castañeda in Silang, Cavite, saying the survey results also show how the people are aware of the efforts put in by his administration to help them and uplift their lives.
“It just validates what we are doing. People are beginning to understand what we have been trying to do for the last two-and-a-half years,” President Marcos told reporters.
Filipinos appear to approve of his achievements, as the OCTA Research’s April 2025 survey shows President Marcos remains the country’s most trusted official with a 60 percent trust rating and 59 percent approval for his performance.
“It continues to inspire me because it shows that we are making progress. That’s always good to know,” the president added, pointing to his administration’s work.
After Marcos took over the presidency in mid-2022, the economy showed growth for the latter half of that year by 7.4 percent as the country reopened after the COVID-19 restrictions. Growth continued at 5.5 percent in 2023 and 5.7 percent in 2024. The government now aims to spur the economy to expand further by at least 6 percent this year.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) reports that faster approval processes have brought in P4.65 trillion in investments as of January 31, 2025. The DTI said 187 major investment projects have moved forward through the Green Lanes system set up by President Marcos in February 2023.
The OCTA Research report stated that while there was a slight dip in the president’s rating from the previous surveys, “it
is not substantial.” It also highlighted the fact that “most adult Filipinos continue to express trust and approval for President Marcos Jr., noting that the consistent 60 percent trust rating is evidence of the public’s continued confidence.
In a statement, Malacañang said that despite political controversies and criticisms, Filipinos remain focused on the administration’s bigger achievements and that public trust has proven resilient despite attempts to sow doubt on the Marcos administration.
Analysts noted that despite the ever-present political noise and challenges to the administration, most Filipinos still see President Marcos as a steady and reliable leader.
“Nevertheless, positive or negative, it will not stop the President from working and fulfilling his goals for all Filipinos. He will never be distracted by the ratings, though they will all be considered for the betterment of the country,” Presidential Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said.
